Spend your time relaxing in one of the numerous hammocks situated throughout the grounds or, if you are more adventurous, join one of our various tours. Our limestone hills provide wonderful caves to explore. Make sure and ask about the River Cave, an experience you will never forget. We also offer trips to the Ruins of Tikal, the Mayan Cave of Naj Tunich and the Rio Mopán Waterfalls combined with a visit to the Ruins of Ixcún and Museum in Dolores. You can find more info on our Jungle Trek page.
Our most exciting and popular cave trip. This all day guided cave trek features a spectacular underground river complete with rapids and waterfalls. Trips leave daily at 9 a.m. Price per person is Q75
This cave's natural beauty makes it a must see. Its crystal clear pools of water will amaze you as you walk through the exquisite formations of stalactites and stalagmites. Price per person is Q35.00
The smallest of the three caves, but not to be left behind. Explore its hidden chambers and caverns and find out why it is called the Echo Cave. This guided trek is only a short 25 minutes away. the Machaquila River
All Day Horse Trek: This all day guided tour leads you through our pine forest and beyond. You can swim in the river or take a walk in the jungle after lunch break. This guided trip includes lunch and beverages. Price per person is Q175.00
Overnight Horse Trek: Combine the fun of horseback riding with the desire to see the jungle. The adventure begins with a 6 hour trek to the camp in the jungle where you will be staying. Pack mules carry our gear. You sleep in tents or hammocks in a thatch roofed hut and cook over an open fire. You can refresh yourself in the nearby stream. In the morning take a hike to visit one of the very interesting caves in the area or just stroll through the virgin jungle before saddling up for your trek home to Finca IXobel. Price per person is Q225.00 p/day.
The great thing about these tours is that you can do them when you like, you can go at your own pace taking as much time as you like and there is no charge. Make sure that you ask the staff for directions. We recommend you wear long pants and good walking shoes. When going in the afternoon allow enough time so that you come back during daylight hours. It is not fun trying to find your way back in the dark.
Enjoy spectacular views at the top of the pyramid. It is called that because of its shape, not because it is a Mayan temple. Cerro Witz: Enjoy walking through the forest and following the slope up a hill that will give you spectacular views. If you like, you can continue on through a small jungle walking along a pretty little stream and make a round trip back to Finca Ixobel.
